クラークの三原則 Clarke's three laws
- 高名だが年配の科学者が可能であると言った場合、その主張はほぼ間違いない。また不可能であると言った場合には、その主張はまず間違っている。
When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong. - 可能性の限界を測る唯一の方法は、不可能であるとされることまでやってみることである。
The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible. - 充分に発達した科学技術は、魔法と見分けが付かない。
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
